Background:

The Breast Cancer Stamps original version, first released in 1998, was the first semi-postal stamp issued by the Postal Service. Sold at a premium price of 60 cents, proceeds go to support Breast Cancer research. Cotuit was chosen as the unveiling site for this new stamp based on its being the Districts highest grossing community in Breast Cancer stamp sales since their conception.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. Stamps can be purchased at the Blackstone Post Office on the day of the event. Stamps are also available online at www.usps.com
