David Filosa of Milford (left), a letter carrier in Marlboro, was recognized for his 35 years of service with the Postal Service by Postmaster Nicholas Tselikis.

In a time when Americans are demanding a government that is lean, effective and efficient, Letter Carrier David Filosa is doing his part, making 508 deliveries a day throughout Marlborough, promoting customer service and communication that reaches throughout the world.

Filosa was recently heralded for his 35 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service. He delivers to Union Street, Stevens, Bolton, and Lakeshore Drive and all the surrounding streets, and has spent his whole career in Marlborough.

“I’m very proud of it.  I still love the job. I’m still going to keep working for the Postal Service until I decide to retire.”

Marlborough Postmaster Nicholas Tselikis recognized Filosa in front of employees at the Marlborough Post Office where he works. Tselikis gave him a letter which said, “The good reputation enjoyed by the Postal Service is based upon the loyal service of persons like yourself, and I am proud to commend you for your contribution.”

“It was special to me,” Filosa said. “I’m very big on service.”

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
