Effective Saturday, October 27, the Post Office at 1347 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington will be closed while the building undergoes some needed repairs due to a leaking roof.
No retail services will be offered at the Massachusetts Avenue location and the 120 current Arlington Heights Post Office Box customers will be able to retrieve their mail at the main Arlington Post Office at 10 Court St.
Proper identification will be required to pick up your mail at the retail counter, which is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
There will be no change to street delivery and customers will continue to pick up any notice left parcels at the Court St. location.
While this move is expected to be temporary, no timetable has been established as yet for completion of the necessary repair work.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
