STEVENSON, MD — The Stevenson Post Office will host a Passport Fair on Saturday, October 2 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., 10421 Stevenson Road, Stevenson, MD 21153. Postal officials will provide passport information to U.S. citizens and accept passport applications.
The Post Office can assist customers in applying for either a passport book or a passport card with the State Dept. U.S. citizens must present a valid passport book when entering or re-entering the U.S. by air. U.S. citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry must present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the State Dept. The passport card cannot be used for air travel. The card has the same validity period as a passport book: 10 years for an adult, 5 years for children 15 and younger.
The Post Office recommends bringing the following items, to save you time and convenience, and to help your passport application process go smoothly:
- Bring proper proof of American citizenship. This must be either: a certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state; a previous U.S. passport; a certificate of citizenship; or a naturalization certificate. (Note: a hospital-issued birth certificate alone is not acceptable.)
- Bring proof of identity. This must be either: a previous U.S. passport; a naturalization certificate; a certificate of citizenship; or a current valid driver’s license, government ID or military photo ID.
- The passport application requires two recent identical photographs. Photo services will be available on site for $15.
- To save time, you can download a passport application at usps.com/passport and complete it beforehand. All applicants must appear in person (including minors).

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no direct support from taxpayers. With 36,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, the Postal Service relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $68 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 28th in the 2009 Fortune 500.
