BOONSBORO, MD — The U.S. Postal Service officials announced that a decision has been made to relocate the Boonsboro Post Office.
A public meeting was held on November 2, 2015, at the Eugene C. Smith Community Center to discuss the planned move due to the current facility space deficient for our operational needs. The Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Boonsboro community. After careful consideration of all concerns expressed, the Postal Service has decided to proceed with the yet-to-be determined location.
The Postal Service’s goal is to select a new facility as close to the current site a possible. The new facility will allow USPS to offer a safe working environment for employees and still maintain the same level of quality service currently provided at Boonsboro Post Office located at 5 Potomac Street. Postal operations will continue at the existing location until the replacement facility is open and fully functional.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
