The U.S. Department of State has detailed guidelines for preparing your passport application and for which supporting documents are necessary. To save time, you may fill out and print a passport application online in advance of the event by visiting the U.S. State Department website http://travel.state.gov. Please ensure that your application is completed in black ink and that you have the required U.S. citizenship documentation as well as identification and payment when you arrive for the fair. Please do not sign the application until directed to do so by a passport acceptance agent at the Post Office.

For information about fees, photo requirements, additional passports, travel information and to download forms, visit the U.S. State Department website at www.travel.state.gov.

Customers who cannot attend the fair but need a passport are invited to schedule an appointment. Go to www.usps.com; under the Find Locations tab, select Passports to locate a nearby USPS passport processing office. Call the office using the number provided to schedule an appointment.

Passport applications require a recent 2-by-2 inch photograph on a plain background which can be taken at the Post Office for a $15 fee. The cost for an adult passport book is $110 plus a $25 processing/acceptance fee; the adult passport card is $30 plus a $25 processing fee. Both are good for ten years. The fee for a minor child’s passport book or card is slightly less. Payments to the Department of State may be made via cash or check only; fees to the Post Office for photos or passport processing may be made via credit or debit card, cash or check.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
