Postal Service looking for letter carriers, announces job fair

FREDERICK, MD — Looking for a new career? The Postal Service has many immediate, rewarding openings for individuals who enjoy working outside and meeting new people. Information about these opportunities will be available during our job fair on Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and noon to 1:30 p.m., at the following location:

Frederick Post Office
201 E Patrick Street
Frederick, MD 21701

Job fair attendees will be able to meet with postal officials who will provide first-hand descriptions of job openings and other information. A limited number of seats are available.

The Postal Service is looking to hire carriers to deliver mail in Frederick and the surrounding area. Positions available include:

Assistant Rural Carriers

$17.40 an hour

No written exam required.

Rural Carrier Associate

$17.40 an hour

Written exam is required.

City Carrier Associate

$16.06 an hourly

Written exam is required.

Each session will start promptly as indicated above. Please arrive at 10 a.m. or noon for the full presentation.

Applicants must be able to pass a drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Any position that has a driving requirement will also require a valid driver license and a clean 2-year driving history. Citizenship or permanent resident status is required.
