Postal Service Announces Extended Holiday Hours

Some Post Offices to Stay Open Later on Saturdays Before Christmas

MARYLAND — Throughout Maryland, select Post Offices will be offering extended retail window hours on the remaining  Saturdays before Christmas to make it more convenient for customers to complete their holiday mailings.

The same Post Offices also will extend the hours of its “Dutch Doors,” on Saturdays and will be opened on Sunday, Dec. 17, for the pickup of packages. You must present a photo identification to obtain your parcel.

The Post Offices shown in the chart below will be extending their retail and dutch door hours on weekends before Christmas. Post Offices not listed will retain their normal retail hours. Hours are posted in retail lobbies and online at www.usps.com.

USPS is asking customers to mail early in the day (before 1 p.m.) and early in the season. Special early collections of mail from Post Offices and blue boxes will get holiday mail into the processing environment earlier and on its way sooner.
