Southern Maryland Post Offices to Host Passport Fair Day

Travelers can file passport applications before April 2 fee increases

SOUTHERN MARYLAND — To help travelers prepare for their international travel, USPS passport acceptance stations and branches in the Southern Maryland area will be conducting passport fairs on Saturday, March 24, 2018.  Passport applications will be processed during the Post Offices’ normal business hours. Walk-ins are welcome. The participating offices include:

  • Accokeek Post Office, 16405 Livingston Road, Accokeek, MD 20607
  • Bryans Road Post Office, 6960 Indian Head Highway, Bryans Road, MD 20616
  • Bryantown Post Office, 6425 Leonardtown Road, Bryantown, MD 20617
  • Callaway Post Office, 20293 Piney Point Road, Callaway, MD 20620
  • Deale Post Office, 650 Deale Road, Deale, MD 20751
  • Galesville Post Office, 948 Galesville Road, Galesville, MD 20765
  • Hughesville Post Office, 15485 Prince Frederick Road, Hughesville, MD 20637
  • Indian Head Post Office, 4050 Indian Head Highway, Indian Head, MD 20640
  • Lothian Post Office, 5471 Southern Maryland Blvd., Lothian, MD 20711
  • Patuxent River Post Office, 459 Cedar Point Road, Patuxent River, MD 20670
  • Prince Frederick Post Office, 35 Duke St., Price Frederick, MD 20678
  • Waldorf Post Office, 150 Post Office Road, Waldorf, MD 20602

Now is the best time to get a passport before passport fees increase this spring. Starting April 2, the mandated passport execution fee changes from $25 to $35. This fee applies to passport applications submitted to authorized agents, including U.S. Post Offices. Other associated fees also will increase.

When filing a passport application, travelers need to bring with them the following items: 

  • A completed DS-11, Application for a U.S. Passport  form, which can be found at the Department of State website at https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports.html. Do not sign the form
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship
  • Proof of identity (valid driver’s license, government employee ID, military ID)
  • Photocopies of U.S. citizenship and identification documents (these will be sent with the application, but bring originals for proof documentation)
  • Appropriate payment. Acceptable forms of payment can be found on the Department of State website. (Please note that neither debit nor credit cards are acceptable forms of payment by the Department of State)
  • Appropriate passport photo, if passport photo services are not available at the selected Post Office location.
