Ogunquit, ME — The lobby of the Ogunquit Post Office at 172 Main Street will be closed for the near future. A vehicle crashed into the building on Friday, June 1, causing structural damage that will need to be assessed by an engineer before repairs can be made.
Post Office Box customers and those retrieving mail from a notice left at their home will be able to pick up their mail in the lobby of the Wells Post Office at 1886 Post Road in Wells Maine 04090.
It is recommended that customers bring an ID when retrieving mail.
Customers looking to mail a package, or for any other retail services can also visit the nearby Moody Post Office at 23 Post Road in Moody or the Cape Neddick Post Office at 1268 US Route One in Cape Neddick.
Delivery of mail to local homes and businesses will not be affected. There is no timetable on the reopening of the lobby at this time.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
