Grand Rapids — The Eastown Station of the Grand Rapids Post Office located at 1451 Lake Dr SE, Grand Rapids MI 49506 is announcing new weekly hours for retail (window) services effective 07/06/12.
The retail service counter will be open Monday through Friday, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Saturday retail counter hours will remain the same with hours of 9:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Retail services are established to meet the postal needs of the community within the limits of available hours and resources. Periodic reviews are conducted and adjustments are made to meet changing economic conditions stated Theresa Mullins, Postmaster. “The Grand Rapids Post Office is included in a standardized procedure to help post offices match the availability of retail services to their actual workload” Mullins further added.
“Since the Postal Service is not supported by tax dollars, these types of adjustments help us manage costs so we can continue to provide universal mail service at affordable rates to all our customers”, said Mullins. Keeping our operating costs as low as possible and finding ways to improve efficiency will enable us to meet customer expectations for service while driving costs out of our system” Mullins further added.
