Lansing MI — A job fair will be held at the Lansing Post Office to talk with persons interested in applying for a Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) position with the United States Postal Service. 

The job fair will focus on RCA positions needed in the following Post Offices:  Lansing, Howell, DeWitt, Grand Ledge, Okemos, and Owosso.

A RCA cases, delivers, and collects mail along a prescribed rural route using a vehicle (their own in some locations), and provides customers on the route with a variety of mail services.

A RCA is a relief position.  The rate of pay for a RCA is $16.26 an hour. They are the substitute to the regular rural carrier and cover the days off of the route they are assigned to. The number of hours will vary based on the location. The employee will be required to work Saturdays and weekdays as needed.  May include Sundays and holidays. He/she must be available to work assigned scheduled days and must be available to work on short notice.

Potential applicants must have a valid state driver’s license, no suspensions, a safe driving record, no DUI’s and at least two years (without a break) of documented driving experience.
