What:

The U.S. Postal Service is on the agenda for the Wyandotte, MI, City Council meeting. Postal representatives will discuss plans to relocate the Wyandotte Post Office.

Who:

USPS Real Estate Specialist Greg Shelton

When:

Monday, October 19, 2015
7 p.m.

Where:

Wyandotte City Hall
Council Chambers
Wyandotte, MI 48192

Background:

The Wyandotte Post Office needs to relocate to find a space that is at least 1,582 net interior square feet from its original 14,250 square feet.  Postal Service must relocate retail services to a yet-to-be-determined location within the city limits.

The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the current site until such time as all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.

Postal retail services will remain within the community at a different physical location within the same geographical ZIP Code area. There will be no changes to mail delivery, customers’ addresses or Post Office Boxes as a result of this relocation.

U.S. Postal Service representatives will present the proposal for the relocation during the 7 PM City Council meeting.

Written comments on the proposal will be accepted until November 18, 2015 and may be submitted to:

Greg Shelton, Real Estate Specialist
Attn: Wyandotte, MI
United States Postal Service
7500 E 53rd Place, Room 1108
Denver, CO 80266-9918

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
