Spring Arbor Post Office Set To Host Passport Fair

Spring Arbor, MI – On Thursday, February 11, 2016 and Thursday, March 17, 2016, the Spring Arbor Post Office, 109 Teft Rd., will conduct a Passport Fair for people planning to travel to Canada, Mexico and overseas. Passport hours at the Spring Arbor Post Office will be from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. for this year’s event.

“We’re here to help our customers as they prepare to travel the world,” says Spring Arbor Officer- In- Charge Lucille Swain. “We make getting a passport easy and convenient with a one-stop shop solution,” she explained.

Passport applications require a 2 x 2 photograph in color, which can be taken at the Passport Fair event for $15.00.
The U.S. Department of State provides detailed guidelines for preparing your passport application and supporting documents. You can fill out and print a passport application online or get one when you visit a designated Post Office™ to submit the application. To help the Passport Fair application process go smoothly and efficiently, the Postal Service recommends the following:

  • Bring in proper proof of American citizenship. This must be either: a certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state; a previous U.S. passport; a certificate of citizenship; or a naturalization certificate. (Please note: a hospital-issued birth certificate alone is not acceptable.)
  • Bring in proof of identity. This must be either: a previous U.S. passport; a naturalization certificate; a certificate of citizenship; or a current valid driver’s license, government ID or military photo ID.
  • Both parents must accompany any child (or children) applying for a passport.
  • The passport application requires two recent identical photographs of you, which the Passport fair sites will take for a fee of $15.00 for both.
  • To save time, you can download a passport application at www.usps.com/passport to complete your application beforehand.
