East Lansing, MI — Obtaining a Passport in the Greater Lansing area will become more convenient on Thursday, March 17, 2016.
Help us celebrate St. Patrick’s day and the Grand Opening of the ‘East Lansing Passport Hub’ with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on March 17th. The Passport Hub is located inside the East Lansing Post Office, 1140 Abbott Rd., East Lansing MI 48823.
The Passport Hub is the first of its kind for the Postal Service in Greater Michigan. Customers will no longer have to stand in the retail line to apply for a Passport. They will now be serviced via a separate office specifically dedicated to accept and process Passport applications.
Several desks manned by passport clerks will be available to assist customers. Everything from applying for a Passport, getting a Passport photo, to making payment can all be accomplished within the ‘Passport Hub’. Passport hours will be Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The office will be closed on Sundays and Holidays. Walk-ins are welcome and no appointments will be necessary.
With the operation of this hub, the following post office locations: Lansing Main Post Office, Dewitt Post Office, Holt Post Office, Okemos Post Office and Grand Ledge Post Office will discontinue accepting and processing Passport applications on Friday, March 25, 2016.
The public is invited to come and join the U.S. Postal Service as they welcome this new convenient service to the Greater Lansing area.
