Lansing MI — The U.S. Postal Service is committed to making sure the holiday season will be accommodating for our customers and this even includes Sundays. Once again the East Lansing Post Office, 1140 Abbott Rd. will have Sunday retail hours for the three Sundays prior to Christmas, beginning Sunday December 3, 2017.
“We realize as the holidays get closer, opening on Sundays will help our customers with stamp purchases as well as mailing their holiday cards and packages”, said Jeremy Rensberry, Postmaster.
“We expect to deliver an estimated 15 billion cards, letters and packages nationwide this year, and we’re hoping that opening retail operations on Sundays will help smooth the process”, he further added.
The East Lansing Post Office located at 1140 Abbott Rd. will be open the following Sundays:

And with the increased mail volume the Postal Service will be delivering parcels daily and often at times outside of the regular delivery hours. This means you may see postal employees delivering packages earlier in the morning and later in the evening, in their postal vehicles.
As we get further into the holiday season, this will include Sundays as well. The reason we are doing this is to serve and provide our customers the best holiday experience possible.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
