Lawton MI — Are you traveling this summer? Do you need a passport? The Lawton Post Office is here to help. Beginning January 22, 2018, some US residents may need to carry a passport to fly domestically. The move is part of the Real ID Act, which requires states to issue driver's licenses that comply with federal standards.
What is a U.S. Passport Book or Card? A passport book or card is proof of identity and U.S. citizenship. U.S. citizens can use the passport book for all international travel: air, land, or sea. U.S. citizens can use the passport card to enter the United States from Canada; Mexico; the Caribbean; and Bermuda; and at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry. However, U.S. citizens cannot use the passport card for international air travel; the wallet-size passport card is convenient and less expensive than the passport book.
To help our local customers the Lawton Post Office will be holding a passport fair as follows:
Saturday March 10, 2018
9:30 – 12:00 (noon)
Lawton Post Office
210 S. Main St.
Lawton MI 49065
