FORT RIPLEY, MN – Due to loss of lease, the U.S. Postal Service will cease Postal operations at the Fort Ripley Post Office located at 617 Front Street.  The last day of operation will be Saturday, October 20, 2018.

Fort Ripley is a leased facility that was recently sold.  The new owner is not interested in having the Postal Service as a tenant; therefore, is not renewing the lease.

The Postal Service is currently seeking alternate quarters for relocation in Fort Ripley.  A timeline for this process is not available at this time.

In the interim, retail services are available at the Little Falls Post Office located at 27 East Broadway in Little Falls, MN and the Brainerd Post Office located at 422 Laurel Street in Brainerd, MN.  The Little Falls Post Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  The Brainerd Post Office is open Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Postal Service is working with the City of Fort Ripley to install Cluster Box Units for Post Office Box delivery services.  More information will be provided at a future date once a location has been confirmed.

The Postal Service will do everything possible to continue providing uninterrupted service to the community during this unexpected situation to ensure a seamless relocation for our customers.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
