KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The U.S. Postal Service’s Kansas City, MO-based Mid-America District announced today that beginning Wednesday, September 16, all mail delivery and retail services will be transferred from the Leawood, KS Branch Post Office, located at 3500 W. 95th St., to the Indian Creek Branch, located at 4225 W. 107th St.
There is no need for Leawood postal customers to change their address, Post Office Box number, or ZIP Code. The Indian Creek Branch is open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday, and 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday.
In addition to the Indian Creek Branch, postal retail services also are offered at three nearby Post Offices and two Contract Postal Units (CPUs), which include:
|
Brookridge Branch |
Overland Park Branch |
Wornall Station |
|
Hen House CPU |
Hy-Vee CPU |
Changes in consumer preference and recession-related declines in mail volume have reduced Postal Service revenues. Operation of the Postal Service is paid for by postage and fees paid by its customers. The Postal Service receives no operational subsidy from taxes. Current economic conditions require that Postal Service managers review all operations for opportunities to streamline processes and provide service more efficiently.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 149 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes, six days a week. It has 34,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services, not tax dollars, to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
