U.S. Postal Service and KC Area Letter Carriers to Mark 20TH Anniversary of Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive with Union Station Kick-Off Event

WHAT: The U.S. Postal Service will again join forces with Kansas City metro area letter carriers and Harvesters Community Food Network to Stamp Out Hunger across America, beginning with a brief kick-off event.

The annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, provides assistance to the millions of Americans who are struggling to put food on their tables every day. Now in its 20th year, the Stamp Out Hunger effort is the nation’s largest single-day food drive.

In 2011, drive organizers across the country collected more than 70 million pounds of total food donations for the eighth consecutive year.
