Roland Tidmore to be Sworn-In as New Independence, MO Postmaster

Installation Ceremony will be Held at Harry S. Truman Library and Museum

KANSAS CITY, MO — Pearson R. (Roland) Tidmore will become Independence, Missouri’s 31st Postmaster at an installation ceremony scheduled for Friday, March 15, at 4 p.m. at the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum, located at 500 West U.S. Highway 24, in Independence.

Mr. Tidmore is a 13-year Postal Service veteran, who began his career as a clerk at the Lee’s Summit Post Office in 2000. Mr. Tidmore brings experience in both Customer Service and Mail Processing operations. In 2001 he worked as the opening supervisor at the Harry S. Truman Station, then as Acting Manager at the Englewood Station, both Independence offices.

Mr. Tidmore has worked in various leadership capacities in Kansas City MO, including manager, Customer Service at Westport, Parkway, Martin City and James Crews Stations. He also has served as the Officer-in-Charge in Saint Joseph, MO. Prior to his appointment as Postmaster of Independence, Mr. Tidmore served as Manager, Customer Service Operations over all stations and branches in Kansas City, MO.

Mr. Tidmore has administrative responsibility for the Independence Main Post Office, and the Englewood and Harry S. Truman Stations, which employ more than 125 postal employees.

The Independence, MO offices are responsible for 87 city and four rural routes, stretching from the eastern Jackson County line to the Kansas City, MO city limits. The Independence stations deliver mail to more than 60,000 addresses.
