KANSAS CITY, MO Kansas City area business and residential mailers are reminded that the Postal Service will collect and sort mail on the Memorial Day holiday, Monday, May 27.

“Many businesses are open on Memorial Day,” said Kansas City, MO Postmaster Deb Woodrum. “Maintaining our regular mail collections and sorting operations will help local mailers – especially those that want to drop-off mailings that are time-sensitive.”

And while area Post Offices will be closed in observance of the federal holiday, the Postal Service offers the convenience of Self-Service Kiosks at many Kansas City metro area locations. Self-Service Kiosks allow customers to buy stamps or mail letters and packages in a self-service environment. The kiosks are located in the postal lobby with 24-hour customer access.

“Self-service kiosks support up to 85 percent of all possible retail transactions, including the purchase of additional services such as Delivery Confirmation,” said Woodrum. Customers can purchase stamps or mail letters and parcels using debit or EBT credit cards.
