Flooding Emergency Shifts Redwood Post Office Delivery Operations To Vicksburg

Mississippi District officials have announced that in response to rising waters and road closures in the area, the Post Office in Redwood, MS 39156 is being closed until further notice. Delivery has also been suspended beginning Saturday, May 14.

Mail for customers in the Redwood Community will be transferred to the Vicksburg Post Office for pickup on request. Customers may call for the mail during regular business hours and should be prepared to provide a photo ID to confirm identity. Customers will only be permitted to collect mail for their own address.

Address for the Vicksburg Post Office is 3415 Pemberton Square Boulevard, Vicksburg MS 39180, telephone 601-636-1022 or 601-636-1071. Hours are 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays and 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays. Service will also be offered for mail pickup only at the lobby dutch door 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on weekdays. Customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS (800-275-8777) or visit www.usps.com for additional information.

Postal officials are monitoring conditions and other area Post Offices closely and are prepared to follow guidance from local officials as appropriate. Delivery and facility decisions will also consider the safety of the mail and/or postal employees. In the event a facility must be closed or delivery suspended, public announcements will follow.
