Postal Service Suspends Mail Delivery And Retail Operations In ZIP Code 395 Due To Hurricane Isaac

JACKSON MS —  Due to current weather conditions and projected weather conditions, the Mississippi District of the Postal Service has announced suspension of delivery and retail operations for all Post Offices in ZIP Codes beginning with 395.  The safety of postal employees is paramount and current conditions prevent safe postal operations.

Operations at the Gulfport Processing & Distribution Facility have also been suspended.

Delivery, retail and mail processing services will resume when conditions permit.

Postal employees should call the National Employee Emergency Hotline at 1-888-363-7462 for updated information regarding work schedules and reporting times.

Postal Service employees who must evacuate their home, city or state are asked to call the USPS Employee Notification Hotline at 1-866-666-5349 to report their new location.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
