Gulfport Processing Facility Resumes Normal Operations

JACKSON MS — The Mississippi District of the Postal Service has announced that operations at the Gulfport Processing & Distribution Facility returned to normal today, following a temporary suspension that began August 28, caused by the impact of Hurricane Isaac.

Customers may deposit outgoing mail at the Gulfport Processing & Distribution Facility, 10285 Corporate Drive, Gulfport MS 39503 in the blue mail collection boxes located there. It is anticipated that additional blue mail collection boxes will be available for customer use tomorrow, Friday, August 31.

Postal employees are asked to call the National Employee Emergency Hotline at 1-888-363-7462 for updated information regarding work schedules and reporting times.

Postal Service employees who must evacuate their home, city or state are asked to call the USPS Employee Notification Hotline at 1-866-666-5349 to report their new location.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
