CHARLOTTE NC — Residents who live in the community known as Catawba Heights and have a Belmont address with a ZIP Code of 28012 received surveys from the Postal Service last month to determine if they would like to change their mailing address to Mount Holly NC 28120.
The surveys were sent following a request from Mount Holly Mayor Robert Whitt to change the Belmont mailing addresses to Mount Holly.
The surveys were sent to residents and businesses annexed by the City of Mount Holly in the area that includes the 700 block of Cason Street, east to the Catawba River, south to the Interstate 85 Interchange, north and west along the current Belmont — Mount Holly ZIP Code boundary.
Belmont Abbey College and any addresses currently annexed by Belmont in the Catawba Heights community west of Belmont Abbey were not surveyed.
The Postal Service has tallied the returned surveys. The majority of residents returning the surveys voted to keep the last line of their mailing address as Belmont NC 28012.
Accordingly, all residents in the surveyed area will continue using Belmont NC 28012 as their mailing address.
“We thank customers who participated in the surveys,” said David C. Fields, Sr., District Manager for the U. S. Postal Service’s Mid-Carolinas District. “Customer input is vital and assists us in providing the best service possible.”
