GREENSBORO, NC — Ronald L. White will be officially installed as Postmaster of Greensboro at a public ceremony at North Carolina A&T University’s General Classroom Building, room 218, on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 beginning at 11 am.

Greensboro Mayor The Honorable Yvonne Johnson, U.S. Postal Service District Manager Russ Gardner and a host of civic officials and business leaders will be among those present to publicly welcome White to the position. White replaced Jim Tarter, who retired earlier this year.

“Our goal is to be a customer oriented business that provides quality service to the citizens of Greensboro that is second to none,” says White, a High Point native. “The Greensboro Post Office currently has one of the highest on-time percentages in the nation for overnight delivery at 99.23%, and we are very proud of that accomplishment.”

The Greensboro Main Post Office, one of the largest Post Offices in the state, is located at 201 N. Murrow Blvd. As Postmaster, White is responsible for five delivery stations and seven retail/finance stations, overseeing 550 employees. His stations cover 250 city and rural routes, delivering 2.5 million pieces of mail weekly to nearly 147,000 delivery points and 13,661 Post Office Boxes.

This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Student Union parking lot at A&T. For more information, call 336-370-4693.
