HOLLY SPRINGS, NC — Jeff Major was recently appointed new Postmaster of Holly Springs. Major, an Eden native and postal employee for 13 years, replaces Connie Sullivan, who retired.
“All we have to offer is service and that will be the top agenda each and every day,” says Major. “The residents of Holly Springs can expect to receive the best and friendliest customer service experience imaginable.”
Major began his postal career in 1996 as a distribution and window clerk in Kernersville. After seven years there, he was promoted to Supervisor, Business Mail Entry in Greensboro in August 2003. In 2007 he was promoted to Manager, Distribution Operations, managing mail processing operations in Raleigh, before accepting his current position in Holly Springs. He is a graduate of High Point University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in a double major of Computer Information Systems and Business with a minor in Economics.
At the Holly Springs Post Office, located at 112 Third Street, Major is responsible for 28 employees and 17 routes that deliver mail to over 9700 delivery points and 753 Post Office Boxes. The Post Office is open Monday-Friday 9 am – 4:30 pm, and Saturday 10 am – 12 noon, effective October 5.
Major now lives in Cary and is married with one daughter. “This town is growing and I hope to grow with it and provide excellent service to all new and existing customers,” he says. “I plan to work with the town to make our growth and new deliveries as seamless as possible to the customer.”
