Letter Carriers’ Food Drive kickoff event is TODAY

WHAT:
Greensboro National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) kicks off its 18th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive with an opening event today in at the Natural Science Center of Greensboro. The Food Drive itself will take place Saturday, May 8, 2010 throughout the Triad and around the country.

Greensboro Postmaster Ronnie White and NALC Branch President Jim Tevelia will preside.

Natural Science Center of Greensboro 4301 Lawndale Drive Greensboro, NC

Friday, April 30, 2010 @3-5 pm

BACKGROUND:
This is the 18th annual NALC Food Drive, created to collect non-perishable items for the people of the community. Last year the NALC collected 73.4 million pounds of food nationally, 72,000 pounds of which were donated to the Greensboro community. Nearly one billion pounds of food has been collected in the food drive’s history. Coordinators this year are Darrena Strawder (336-210-0178) and Roxanne Ufret (336-509-0136).
