CHARLOTTE, NC —City carriers Stanley Jones and David Frye have covered a lot of miles in Gastonia NC, and now they have the plaques to prove it.
During a recent ceremony, the two carriers from New Hope Annex each received the prestigious Million Mile Award from the National Safety Council and U. S. Postal Service. District Manager Dave Fields presented the pair with their plaques and safe driving pins.
Jones, who has delivered mail without an accident for nearly 42 years, says “Getting the award is a great feeling. It means all those years of doing my job well have paid off.” Frye agreed, “It’s a real honor. Safety matters and I’m glad it’s recognized.”
Senior Manager, Post Office Operations Maged Aziz and Human Resources Manager David Mills thanked Manager, Customer Services David S. Weaver for nominating the carriers.
