CHARLOTTE, NC — Shopping for groceries and shipping a package will be a lot easier when the Super G Mart Contract Postal Unit (CPU) holds its Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting this Saturday, September 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Super G Mart, located at 7323 E. Independence Blvd., will become Charlotte’s newest postal retail outlet, offering the same services available in a traditional Post Office, with the exception of money orders. Customers can purchase stamps, mail letters and ship packages – both domestic and international – at Post Office prices.
The Super G Mart CPU will also provide insurance, delivery and signature confirmation and other extra services. “The great thing is these services are now available at a location and time that might be more convenient than our local branches offer,” says Marketing Manager Antonio Cuevas. “The Super G Mart CPU is another way we’re extending services to our customers and making it more convenient to do business with us,” said Cuevas.
Hours of operation at the new postal retail location are Monday – Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The community is invited to join Cuevas, Super G Mart Owner Stephan Kim and other leaders at the ribbon cutting ceremony. Light refreshments will be served.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no direct support from taxpayers. With 36,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, the Postal Service relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $68 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 28th in the 2009 Fortune 500.
