Statesville, NC – To increase convenience and access to postal services, a new Contract Post Office with virtually all postal services is now open in Statesville. The East Broad Street Contract Postal Unit (CPU), located inside Unique Health Store, 3442 E. Broad Street, Statesville, NC will be open six days a week – Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm and Saturday, 9 am – 2 pm. It is one of nine CPUs in the Hickory-Statesville-Advance area, all serving as convenient alternatives to traditional Post Offices.
“This office will help to increase convenience and expand access to postal services for customers unable to travel to the traditional Post Office,” said Michael Dean, Officer-in-Charge, Statesville, who will oversee the E. Broad Street CPU. “A full line of postal products and services are available at the new CPU including postage stamps, Express Mail® service, Priority Mail® service, special services, packaging products, and much more. We are very excited for the residents of Statesville and the community at large.”
The Postal Service has re-engineered the entire Contract Unit Postal program to better answer the needs of postal customers nationwide. “The Postal Service is continuously tasked with finding smarter and more efficient ways to reach our customers,” said Dean. “Our CPUs, our Automated Postal Centers (APC), our online services at www.usps.com, and our face value stamps at major retailers (Food Lion, Harris Teeter, CVS, etc) throughout the city and state are allowing us to change the way we do business, to make us available to more people 24 hours a day.”
The CPU can be reached at 336-704-872-2128. In addition to the Statesville Post Office on 301 S. Oakland Avenue, another CPU in Statesville is located downtown at 205 W. Front Street.
