TIMBERLAKE, NC — Tammy E. Wright, formerly Postmaster of Bunn, was officially named Postmaster of Timberlake. Wright, a postal employee of 18+ years, replaces Pat Sullivan, who passed away in 2011. Wright has been serving as the Officer-in-Charge (acting Postmaster) in Timberlake since June 2011.
Wright began her postal career in 1993 as a clerk in Roxboro Post Office. She was eventually promoted to Supervisor, Customer Services in Henderson Post Office in 1998 and soon after was assigned as Officer-in-Charge in several North Carolina Post Offices, including Butner (2000), Creedmoor (2001) and Rougemont (2006), as well as acting supervisor in Oxford (2006). She was named Postmaster, Bunn in 2004 and held that position until her assignment in Timberlake last year.
“As the official Postmaster of Timberlake, I want to reflect on what the customers want and give them what they need,” says Wright. “I aim to provide excellent customer service.”
In Timberlake, the Post Office is located at 545 Helena Moriah Road, where Wright is responsible for 15 employees and 7 carrier routes that deliver 18,525 pieces of mail weekly to nearly 2700 delivery points and 236 Post Office Boxes. The office is open for retail business Monday-Friday 8:30-11 am and 12-4 pm.
Wright is a native of Granville County and a resident of Oxford, where she lives with her husband and daughter. She is a graduate of Piedmont Community College with a degree in Accounting and Computer Operations.
“I want to re-emphasize that service is our priority,” says Wright. “I always try to have a sense of humor and a smile for everyone.”
