STATESVILLE — To increase convenience and access to postal services, a new Village Post Office is now open in Statesville. The Tomlin Mill One Stop VPO, 1025 Tomlin Mill Road, Statesville, NC, will be open seven days a week – Monday – Saturday, 8 am – 6 pm, Sunday, 12 noon – 6 pm, and holidays 8 am – 2 pm.
The Grand Opening ceremony for this Post Office will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, from 11 am – 12 noon. The ribbon cutting will be at 11:30 am. Refreshments will be served by a local vendor.
Through the Postal Service’s Village Post Office (VPO) partnership with Tomlin Mill One Stop, local residents and businesses in Statesville and Olin will enjoy the convenience of a Post Office. The Tomlin Mill One Stop Village Post Office will provide a specific range of products and services that include booklets of First-Class postage stamps, Flat-Rate prepaid Priority Mail products and limited mail acceptance.
The Village Post Office is a new concept the Postal Service unveiled last spring for consideration in communities where there is no existing Post Office or where the Post Office will have reduced hours. VPOs are designed for non-Postal Service establishments, such as an existing community businesses, town halls, libraries, or government centers.
