North Carolina — The U.S. Postal Service announces that most Post Offices in the northern half of North Carolina will close at 12 noon on both Christmas Eve, December 24, and New Years Eve, December 31, 2013.
Four Post Offices in the larger cities will remain open during its regular retail hours, 9 am -5 pm: in Greensboro at the Main Post Office, 201 N. Murrow Boulevard; in Winston-Salem at Manor Station, 3331 Healy Drive; in Raleigh at Westgate Station, 1 Floretta Place; and in Durham at the Main Post Office, 323 E. Chapel Hill Street.
Only the retail hours will change, as delivery and mail collection times will not be affected. In addition, many of the Post Offices with limited retail access of two, four or six hours will remain open during its normal retail hours. This change will also not affect the hours of Contract Post Offices and Village Post Offices. To locate a Post Office, go online at www.usps.com and select “Find USPS Locations.”
On Saturday, December 14 and Saturday, December 21, 40 Post Offices will open or extend its hours to help alleviate the holiday rush and provide additional mailing and shipping convenience to customers during what is projected to be a busy shopping season.
