PLEASANT GARDEN, NC — Laurie Hedgebeth, 44, was officially installed today as the Postmaster of Pleasant Garden at the local town hall. She is a 19-year postal employee who previously served as Postmaster, Prospect Hill and many other assignments during her postal career. In Pleasant Garden, Hedgebeth is responsible for 10 employees and 142 delivery routes, delivering nearly 920,000 pieces of mail annually to more than 2600 delivery points and 604 Post Office boxes.

Hedgebeth, a High Point native and resident, was administered the oath of office by (left photo) Post Office Operations Manager Robert Hall, while being witnessed by her mother Viola Hedgebeth. The event was hosted by Asheboro Postmaster Darlene Williams with Pleasant Garden Mayor Carla Strickland serving as guest speaker.

“As new Postmaster of Pleasant Garden, I want to re-emphasize that service is our priority,” says Hedgebeth. “The town is growing and I hope to grow with it, and to provide excellent service. A satisfied customer is a happy customer, and a happy customer will always come back. We will serve with a smile.”

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
