Greensboro District Mgr. Russell Gardner presents IS Specialist (A) John Marquis with AVP award.

GREENSBORO, NC – Acting Information Systems (IS) Specialist John Marquis, a 26-year employee based in Raleigh, was presented with the Vice President’s Award for Superior Achievement for “his monumental performance in improving service by implementing changes that affect delivery reporting and scanning initiatives,” according to Greensboro District Manager Russ Gardner.

In a letter to Marquis, U.S. Postal Service Capital Metro Area Vice President Kristin Seaver wrote, “You are a highly experienced and dedicated employee who excels while demonstrating a sincere concern for providing the best service for our customer.”

Marquis was nominated by District Information Technology (IT) Manager Hung Bui.  He cited Marquis for his work on various projects that allows the district to remain among the best in the Capital Metro area, including programs designed for scan accuracy, verification of priority mail dispatch, scan tracking of parcels arriving at local Post Offices and review programs for salary accuracy and adjustments.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
