RALEIGH, NC — The U.S. Postal Service offers alternate locations for customers to mail cards and letters and to ship packages during this holiday season.
A Contract Postal Unit (CPU) is a postal retail office housed within an existing, non-postal business or building that offers nearly all postal services. It helps to increase convenience and access to postal services for customers unable to travel to the other Post Offices. A full line of postal products and services is available at CPUs including postage stamps, Express Mail® service and Priority Mail® service, packaging products, and much more. A listing of all CPUs in the Triangle area is below.
Also, located within communities in a variety of locations - convenience stores, gas stations, local businesses and libraries or other government agencies - Village Post Offices (VPOs) are operated by the management of those locations. VPOs offer limited services such as stamps booklets and Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping.
