Bailey Post Office Hosts Third Annual “Stampin’ On the Lawn” Event

ROCKY MOUNT, NC Bailey, NC, Post Office will host the third annual “Stampin’ on the Lawn” event with a special dedication of the recently released Elvis Presley Forever stamp.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Bailey Post Office, located at 6171 Deans Street, and will offer a variety of activities, including karaoke, hula hoops, dog show and an antique car show. The event is free and open to the public.

Postmaster Beverly Marriott says she will also host a passport fair as part of the day’s activities. Passport applications will be processed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To expedite processing, customers should have proper identification available:

Identification, including a copy, is required to prove U.S. citizenship, such as:

  • Previously issued, undamaged U.S. passport
  • Certified birth certificate issued by the city, county, or state
  • Consular report of birth abroad or birth certificate
  • Naturalization certificate
  • Certificate of citizenship

In addition, one current ID is required, such as:

  • Naturalization certificate
  • Valid driver's license
  • Current government ID (city, state or federal)
  • Current military ID (military and dependents

The passport application also requires a recent passport photograph (2” x2”). Postal clerks will provide photo services, as needed.

Each passport application must be accompanied by a check or money order made payable to the U.S. State Department. Fees for Adults (16 and over) are $110 per Book and $30 per Card. Fees for children under 16 are $80 per Book and $15 per Card. There is an additional fee of $60 for customers requesting expedited processing by the Department of State.

Each passport application requires a $25 execution fee. Passport photos are available for $15. Customers may opt to expedite delivery service to the passport processing lockbox via Priority Mail Express service for an additional $19.99 per family. These fees are payable by cash, check or money order made payable to US Postal Service.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
