LEXINGTON, NC —The United States Postal Service recently announced the closing of a local contract postal facility. A Contract Postal Unit (CPU) is a supplier-owned or supplier-leased site operated by the supplier, under contract to the Postal Service to provide postal products and services to the public, at US Postal Service prices.
Tyro CPU, located at 4344 S NC Highway 150, Suite D in Lexington, NC, closed for business effective August 29, 2015.
Postal customers in Davidson County are encouraged to visit the Lexington Post Office, located at 110 N State Street, Lexington, NC, or the Linwood Post Office, located at 4276 Linwood Rd in Linwood, NC, for continued access to postal products and services.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
