RIDGEWAY, NC – Postal operations have been temporarily suspended at the Ridgeway Post Office, located at 686 U. S. Hwy. 1 South, due to heavy structural damage caused by a car accident. Customers are asked not to attempt to enter or approach the Ridgeway Post Office for safety reasons.

Post Office Box customers can retrieve mail at the Norlina Post Office, located at 306 Liberty St. in Norlina. Retail transactions are available at the Norlina location as well. Hours are from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“We apologize for this inconvenience but have secured and rerouted mail for all customers,” said Post Office Operations Manager Michael Amory. “We hope to restore service as quickly as possible.”

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
