MAPLE, NC – Postal officials have temporarily suspended retail operations at the Maple Post Office, located at 3452 Caratoke Hwy., due to structural damage caused by a car accident. Delivery operations will not be impacted.

Customers can visit the nearby Barco Post Office for retail transactions, which is located at 3929 Caratoke Hwy., in Barco. Hours of operation are 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. M – F and 2:30 p.m. to 4:15. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 11 am.

Post Office Box customers can retrieve mail at the rear of the Maple Post Office but are asked not to attempt to use the front entrance due to safety concerns. “We apologize for this inconvenience but have secured mail for all customers,” said Postmaster Sandra Powers. “We hope to restore service as soon as possible.”

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
