Post Offices, mail delivery operate as normal July 3

Postal Service Operates on Holiday Schedule for Independence Day

NORTH CAROLINA — In observance of Independence Day, Post Offices will be closed Tuesday, July 4, in North Carolina. There will be no regular residential or business deliveries.

Post Offices will be open regular business hours Monday, July 3.

Priority Mail Express is delivered 365 days a year and will be delivered on July 4. Normal delivery and collection schedules will resume Wednesday, July 5.

Please note:

  • Stamps are available at most grocery, pharmacy, and convenient stores.
  • For 24/7 access to most postal products and services, go to www.usps.com, where customers can look up a ZIP Code, track a package, buy stamps, hold mail, print postage online, submit a change of address, schedule a package pickup and find USPS locations including self-service kiosks.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
