CHARLOTTE, NC — Beginning in January 2018, South Carolina residents will need a federal form of identification in order to comply with national standards to board commercial flights, even within the United States. For residents’ convenience, the Postal Service has many locations on both sides of the Carolina border to apply for passports.  Obtaining a passport ensures South Carolina residents meet new federally mandated identification requirements.
