FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The U.S. Postal Service resumed mail delivery and reopened most Post Offices, where possible, Monday, Sept. 17, in areas that begin with ZIP Code 283. However, there is some isolated flooding in many areas, so not all areas will have service restored. For the latest information on USPS service updates, check: https://about.usps.com/news/service-alerts/.

“Our hardworking employees are on duty to help us resume service to our communities as quickly as we can,” said Jenny Utterback, acting District Manager of the Postal Service’s Mid-Carolinas District.  “We are committed to resuming service to everyone as soon as we can. We continue to closely monitor the remnants of Tropical Depression Florence and will reopen all impacted facilities when it is determined reasonably safe to do so.”

All Post Offices and mail deliveries in Fayetteville ceased Sept. 13 to prepare for possible flooding.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
