Omaha Post Office Commemorates 2010 UFL Championship with Collectible Envelope and Special Postmark

Omaha, NE — For as little as the price of a First-Class postage stamp, souvenir hunters can obtain a memento of the 2010 UFL Championship, courtesy of the Omaha Post Office.

Omaha postal employees are on hand at the Ram Trucks UFL Experience outside Rosenblatt Stadium on November 27th to offer the postmarks as well as an official UFL Championship collectible envelope.

A commemorative UFL Championship postmark will be applied at no charge to any item with a First-Class postage stamp affixed. The postmark, as well as the collectible envelope, will be available at the Post Office trailer outside the entrance of Rosenblatt during all hours of the event. Postage stamps and Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes will also be available to ship souvenir items purchased at the game.

“We are thrilled to offer our customers this collectible envelope and postmark to celebrate the 2010 UFL Championship in Omaha,” said Omaha Postmaster, Keith Reid. “This special envelope will be prized by stamp collectors and football fans around the country as a unique memento of this UFL Championship.”

The colorful championship logo envelope features the logos of the Florida Tuskers and Las Vegas Locomotives with the official ULF logo in the center. Just to the right of the UFL Championship logo is the championship trophy. Each envelope, protected inside a clear plastic sleeve, features a U.S. Flag stamp and UFL Championship postmark. The price for the collectible envelope is $7 each.

This affordable souvenir is also available via mail order, while supplies last. Orders must include customer’s return address, quantity requested and a check or money order payable to “Postmaster” for $7. Orders for the envelopes must be postmarked by Dec. 27, 2010 and sent to: USPS UFL, OMAHA MAIN POST OFFICE, 1124 PACIFIC ST, OMAHA, NE 68108-9998.

Special postmarks will be available by mail for 30 days following the game. Customers should place stamped, addressed envelopes inside a larger envelope and mail them to: UFL FOOTBALL POSTMARK, C/O POSTMASTER, 1124 PACIFIC ST, OMAHA NE 68108-9998. All requests must be mailed by December 29, 2010.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no direct support from taxpayers. With 36,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, the Postal Service relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $68 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 28th in the 2009 Fortune 500.
