Release No.  09-32

Cranford, NJ — You’ve heard of five-star hotels and five-star resorts — get ready for a five-star Post Office. The Cranford Post Office recently earned a five star rating as part of the Postal Service’s 5-Star Customer Service Program. Since the program began in 2006, the Cranford Post Office has been recognized with the 5-Star 16 consecutive times, earning them the prestigious gold level along with 15 other Northern New Jersey Post Office 5-Star winners.

“We’ve always provided excellent service,” said Postmaster, Wayne Orshak. “Now we’ve got the stars to prove it”

The Gallup Organization surveys USPS customers, asking them to rate local Post Offices on efficiency, accuracy of delivery, consistency of delivery and wait-time-in-line. The Cranford Post Office which delivers to 9,300 households and businesses, and serves an average of 200 retail customers a day, received an “Excellent” rating from their satisfied customers.

To celebrate this milestone a 5-Star display will be posted in the retail lobby and each retail employee will don the impressive 5-Star lapel pins in recognition of the rating.

“We’re really honored to receive this rating,” said the Postmaster, and achieving the gold 5-Star means even more to us. “It shows that our customers value the excellent service the employees of Cranford continue to provide.”
