Modified Postal Retail Hours for July 3rd

All South Jersey offices will close by 12 noon

June 24, 2010

BELLMAWR NJ —South Jersey postal officials today announced modified Post Office retail hours for Saturday, July 3, 2010. Regular mail delivery and Saturday collections will be unaffected by these changes.

Many businesses modify their hours on the holiday weekend and the number of customers visiting Post Office lobbies greatly diminishes.

Revised hours will be posted at each Post Office. Customers are encouraged to check their local office for specific hours. To obtain the phone number of a specific Post Office, customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS. Commercial customers are asked to check with their Bulk Mail Acceptance Unit for hours of operation.

Post Offices will be closed on July 5, 2010, in recognition of the holiday. Express Mail will be delivered on July 4 and July 5.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no direct support from taxpayers. With 36,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, the Postal Service relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $68 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 28th in the 2009 Fortune 500.
