DETAILS: Postal Officials, family members, colleagues, friends, and community leaders will gather to recognize West Caldwell Post Office General Clerk and Township resident Pat Boyle on his last day of work after 52 years of public service.

After serving a two year hitch aboard a U.S. Navy Ice Breaker in the Arctic and Antarctic, Pat Boyle began a career in the U.S. Postal Service in January 1963 that stretched more than 50 years at the Caldwell and West Caldwell Post Offices.

Mr. Boyle was initially hired as a Clerk–Carrier at the Caldwell Post Office. He served in various other positions over the years in Caldwell and West Caldwell including Vehicle Operations and Maintenance Assistant overseeing the local postal vehicle fleet. The West Caldwell Township resident is now the General Clerk handing extensive administrative duties for the large Post Office with 75 employees serving three communities: West Caldwell, Caldwell, and Fairfield.

“Pat is an excellent employee and he is going to be missed,” says Postmaster Myra Velasco. “He has the best work ethic and is such a good person.”

“You could not ask for a better employee,” says West Caldwell Customer Service Supervisor Michael Porta about Pat Boyle. “He has not called-in sick in over ten years.”
