EDISON, NJ — Postal and mailing industry professionals gathered on June 10 for the Greater New Jersey Postal Customer Council (PCC) spring meeting at Middlesex County College in Edison NJ. The five hour forum included a networking session, presentations, and a luncheon.
PCCs are groups of mailing industry leaders and senior postal managers who meet regularly to exchange mutually beneficial ideas. PCC members network with other mailers, business mail service providers, and USPS executives to discover new ways to make mailing operations and mailings more effective, efficient, and profitable. There are over 150 local PCC chapters across the nation with a total membership of 100,000. The Greater New Jersey PCC received national recognition in 2013 with a prestigious Gold Level Premier Award.
The featured speakers included: Greater NJ PCC Postal Co-Chair / USPS Northern NJ District Manager Steven Hernandez, Greater NJ PCC Industry Co-Chair / Canon Business Process Services National Operations Manager James Mullan, USPS Headquarters Mail Entry Manager Garrett Hoyt from Washington D.C., U.S. Postal Inspector Gregory Kliemisch, and U.S. Postal Inspector Gregory Botti.
Postal Inspectors Kliemisch and Botti presented an informative session on fraud prevention. Using examples of actual investigations, the two law enforcement professionals were able to raise awareness of the scams that are very prevalent right now and share valuable tips for avoiding becoming a victim.
Garrett Hoyt gave a presentation on the latest innovations and the future of business mail entry and acceptance at postal facilities.
“By working together and leveraging the benefits of the Greater New Jersey PCC, we can build a stronger future for the Postal Service and the mailing industry,” emphasized Greater NJ PCC Postal Co-Chair / USPS Northern New Jersey District Manager Steven Hernandez.
